I'm Aubrey Gates King, a poet, translator, and educator.
Aubrey (she/they) is a poet, translator, and educator living in Boulder, CO, the unceded territory of the Arapahoe, Ute, and Cheyenne peoples. They are currently the Head Writing Fellow and teach writing to undergraduate students at the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at Naropa University.
They hold an MFA in Creative Writing & Poetics from the Jack Kerouac School, where they were an Allen Ginsberg Graduate Fellow. She also holds a BA in English Literature and Chinese Studies from Rhodes College.
Aubrey's work blends spiritual insight and gratitude for the natural world with the terrors of living in the twenty-first century. Skeptical of meaning-making and highly experimental with form, their poetry says, "fuck capitalism, I love you, what if the universe and my context had a baby?"
